[The following is a designated ‘Laura-only‘ to-do]
A week ago I received an invite from my girlfriend Jane to join her and a group of her friends at the Leaside Curling Club for a friendly match. Perfect timing (it was on my list of things to-do). A quick tutorial and some practice shots, and we got the game started. I was bad, but not too bad. I didn’t trip over any rocks, injure anyone or myself, or shoot anything down the wrong lane. I feel this is an accomplishment in itself.
Curling is definitely a fun sport. I’ll try it again, maybe next time with John if he’s ready to dust off the ol’ curling shoes…hey did you know that John was on the curling team in public school? How cute is that. I didn’t even know you could join curling teams in public schools. That’s fancy stuff. In Catholic school (where I came from), we mainly stuck to basic pastimes: basketball, soccer, track, confession, that sort of thing. Curling was pretty much unheard of.
Big thanks to Jane for the invite.
Let me know if you want a place to go…I know a lovely country club in Woodstock lol…where I learned…
