This morning John and I woke up, drank some coffee and scanned through our list of 364 things-to-do. We knew we wanted to do something quick and easy (something we could do in our PJ’s). We were also hungry; so we agreed something involving food would have to do.
A quick scan of our ‘Food & Drink’ category and we settled on something we’ve both wanted to do since we were young’ins: Make Green Eggs & Ham. It’s the kind of thing only cool kids get to do at alternative public schools or with their hippie babysitters.
Our Green Eggs & Ham recipe was slapped together completely impromptu styles (without the aid of YouTube or Google). We wanted to avoid using food colouring, so John had to run out to our local market (in his PJ’s) and buy some green things like spinach & avocados.
Overall it took us about 45 minutes to complete the dish (recipe included below), but you could probably do it all in 30 minutes. The extra 15 minutes was really just spent on taking photos and putting together an awesome green eggs & ham playlist (also included below).
In conclusion: Making green eggs & ham is fun and amusing and our recipe was deliciously unusual, but probably isn’t worth your time doing unless it’s St. Patrick’s day or you’re trying to impress your 5 year-old.
