Another must-see art museum on our list, for all sorts of reasons, but mostly for Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks (1942) and Grant Wood’s American Gothic (1930).
Though not nearly as ethereal or as aesthetically moving as the Toledo Art Museum, we had some laughs speed walking through the Institute’s permanent collection, an hour before closing, getting scolded thrice for standing too close, laughing too loud, and taking pictures when we shouldn’t be taking pictures.
