72) Bike to Etobicoke 29 Mar 2012

Yesterday, as part of our tip-top training regime and to pick-up a yoke for our canoe, we biked over to Etobicoke – all the way from our east-end apartment in Riverside.

We clocked in at about 44 km total, following the waterfront trail that meanders along Toronto’s Harbour and Humber Bay. It was a brisk, windy, but gorgeous bike ride, taking in some of the best views of the city I’ve seen.

After decades of mismanagement, industrial development, and civic neglect, it’s a great feeling to finally see Toronto’s waterfront take shape.

As for our thoughts on Etobicoke: biking there is better than being there.
