40) Drink a Root Beer float 24 Feb 2012

So we’re back in Toronto after a whirlwind trip to Belize. Despite American Airlines completely loosing our luggage with all our gear, we managed to have an incredible time, crossing off eleven to-do’s on our list. You can scroll through each by clicking on the scroll tab at the top (just in case you missed that nifty feature).

Upon our return home, we received a surprising phone call from Global News, requesting to interview us about the project. Two hours later, reporter David Shum and his cameraman Dave were over at our home office, and together we winged our first on-camera interview as a couple. It was a fun and unexpected evening. Thanks to David for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to share this crazy project with others.

After our interview we scoured the streets in search of a television to watch our segment on the 11:00 o’clock news. To no avail, we figured we might as well cross off a to-do on the list. We grabbed some A&W Root Beer and some Breyers vanilla ice cream and made the best damn Root Beer float I’ve ever tasted (easy to say, cause it was my first ever), but you get the point. Creamy, smooth, frothy, fizzy: everything you could want in a Root Beer float.

And lucky for us, John’s lovely sister Liz was able to Skype us into her TV room to catch the interview at 11:00. To watch us wing our first on-camera interview, check out the video below.
