260) Make a headboard for our bed 22 Oct 2012

I know what you’re thinking…. “Lame.” Fair enough, but understand, making a headboard for our headboard-less bed is serious business, a task we’ve been talking about for over a year since graduating from that shitty futon of ours.

Right now our bed is literally just a mattress on a rollable box-spring. Every night while reading or while piddling away on our laptops, our bed will gradually slide away from the wall until eventually there’s a gap the size of Texas behind our backs. One of us has to get out of bed and shove the mattress back against the wall, while the other one has to pull up all the pillows that have fallen to the floor where there’s dust and sometimes spiderwebs. It’s gross and annoying and I think if you’re over the age of 25, having a legitimate headboard should be a mandatory adult accessory, cause really, what decent adult sleeps on dusty pillow cases?

We’ve tried other things of course. We’ve tried stuffing our socks in the rollers to minimize the slide. But that only works for so long. And personally, I like my socks. My socks deserve better than that.

Now we just need to figure out how to transport the damn thing from Gram’s studio back home. (it’s been over a month).
