120) Curate a street festival 20 May 2012

After 8 months of hair-pulling, conference calls, admin-ing and creative visioning, we’re ready to roll….

Art of the Danforth opens today! 21-days of art super fun in Toronto’s east-end: 36 large site-specific installations, 4 hands-on workshops, 20 stores turned mini–art galleries, and over 50 tours, on-the-fly events & performances.

John and I are co-curatong Zone B (A Piece of a City) w/ one of our favourite collaborators, Annie Onyi Cheung. Our program features 11 art projects that move, evolve, interact, and live in the architecture and landscape along our stretch of the Danforth (Coxwell Ave to East Lynn Park).

If you live in Toronto, the Danforth is where it’s at today. Here are some work-in-progres shots (come back to this page tomorrow for more pics from opening festivities.)

PS: If you’re on Facebook or Twitter, we’ll be live-tweeting the event. Follow along here for FB updates, or here for Twitter updates.
