This to-do was an introduction for us, a relatively easy winter-camping experience to ease us into the more serious kinds of winter expeditions we’d like to eventually do.
Just for the night, we stayed at Mew Lake campground in Algonquin Park. The weather was a balmy -12 °C that night, so to stay comfy and cozy we each wore 3 layers of clothes (our trusty long johns, fleece, and wool), slept in 2 layers of sleeping bags, and spent most of the night huddled around the fire.
It was a calm, contemplative and silent night for us both. We fell asleep early (maybe around 9’oclock).
